Love Bruce

Daughter, 20, after seeing Springsteen in concert with me in Greensboro on Saturday night, "I know why you love Bruce. I love him, too."

Steensboro.

Bruce performed an amazing 27-song set closing with "Glory Days.” We danced and sang with our whole hearts. I think we sat down once, during the Ghost of Tom Joad.

Husband, slunched over the computer keyboard, said, "I just read an article where 'sitting up straight' is the worst thing for your back."

Kick Stand

Yesterday, at a Sky Valley, Georgia overlook, Husband set the Harley down without the kickstand. Two folks nearby ran to help him lift the bike back up. (With a full tank of gas, that bike must weigh over 850 pounds.)

"They must have thought I was high to do something that retarded," he said. "I heard of it being done. I just didn't think I'd do it." Later, he added: "It was a learning experience. I will wager I don't do that again."

Quiet Moment

This morning in our backyard Nature gave me a white tailed rabbit, five small deer, and a bright red cardinal. The quiet moment roared.

Prom Date

Son, 18, called to say he got a date for the senior prom. "Don't you remember JoJo from BiLo? She texted me last night, but I didn't know she was going with me until this morning."

Cheddar Melt

Daughter, 20, just called to say she is coming home tomorrow and staying for Easter: "Can you make potato salad with macaroni... and peas? I'm starving. I think I'll go and get an Arby's Cheddar Melt."
